Christina Corbett
Apparel Merchandising Class of 2020 Merchant Analyst Intern for Kohl's
Christina is a senior Apparel Merchandising major who was able to intern as a merchant analyst for Kohl’s. During this time she was able to participate in both the buying and planning sides of the office while working in the Toy’s buying office. She also had the opportunity to present four major products to the divisional management team and presented weekly analyses of the Toy business. Christina was able to attend meetings, classes, and help others in her office with managing inventory and contacting vendors.
She was able to find this internship through Indeed and then applied in the late fall of 2018. Though she will not be returning to Kohl’s after graduation in May, she does appreciate all that she learned during her time there. Christina applied to as many internships as she could in order to minimize the limit of where she could receive an opportunity.
She also states that the classes that she has taken while here at Baylor prepared her well for the internship and that during her time there she realized the importance of getting hands on experience.
“Internships are extremely important. They are a necessity when seeking jobs after graduation, and are so valuable in helping you figure out what exactly you want to do or which jobs to apply for.”
