Billicarole Evans
Mechanical Engineering Class of 2020 Operations Leadership Development Siemens
My name is Billicarole Evans, and I’m a senior Mechanical Engineering student at Baylor University. I attended the Fall 2019 and the Spring 2020 Career Fairs and met with several employers.
One of my favorite companies that I connected with at the Fall 2019 Career Fair was Siemens Automation Company. I had a great conversation with one of the company representatives and knew I wanted to apply for an opportunity within this organization. Unfortunately, they did not have any open positions at the time; however, several of the company representatives stayed in touch with me over the next few months because they thought I’d make a great addition to the team.
A few months passed and I started preparing for the Spring 2020 Career Fair with Tom Brooks and Emily Dalak in the Baylor University Career Center. They were incredibly helpful in preparing me for the event and develop my elevator pitch. At the Spring 2020 Career Fair, I connected with Siemens once again, and they offered to interview me for an open position! I was so excited that I immediately set up a mock interview with Tom and Emily to prepare for it. Later, I interviewed with Siemens, and the company representatives told me I would be receiving a job offer shortly!
'm so glad that I attended each career fair and sought help from the ECS Career Center. It all truly helped me land an opportunity with my dream company.
